In the collection of personal information Safe Love Coalition is bound by the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth). We collect your information only with your consent; we only collect the minimum amount of personal information that is necessary to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us.

Purpose and Use

The primary purpose for collecting information from you is to tailor information about violence prevention, to update you on other specific activities that may be of interest to you, and to allow you to contribute in forum discussion in a safe place. Your information may be used to:

  • provide you with information;

  • report to government or other funding bodies on how funding is used;

  • assess suitability to be a volunteer;

  • regulate forum discussions;

  • respond to your enquiry.

It may also be used for any other purpose for which it was requested and to which you were advised or provided consent. Information may be used for directly related purposes.

Responsibility for Policy

If you have any concerns or complaints about a breach of this policy, either by Safe Love Coalition or an another organisation or individual associated with Safe Love Coalition, please contact us in writing. This should be done within a reasonable time from when you first become aware of a breach of the policy. Please identify the conduct that is the basis for the complaint and be as specific as possible about the details. If you think there is information that is held that is not accurate, you may ask to have it corrected. We encourage you to check this policy on our website as it may change from time to time. We will post any changes to the policy on this page. If you are not satisfied that your complaint has been adequately handled, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
