Domestic violence in the LGBTIQA community

The LGBTIQA community face similar rates of domestic violence as the wider community but face many additional and unique barriers to its reduction.

As a community, we are doing more and more to help tackle domestic violence and ensure victims can get help. But these additional barriers make it much harder for LGBTIQA victims. The Safe Love Coalition is working to break down those barriers to ensure that everyone has access to help, regardless of their sexuality or gender. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships and we cannot leave the LGBTIQA community behind as we tackle domestic violence.
